History Of The Teacup Maltipoo
The Teacup Maltese is a smaller version of the Maltese dog. They were originally bred to be just a smaller variation of the breed and were bred by crossing Miniature Poodles and Spaniels into the line. A breed standard was finally created in 1964 and has not changed since then.
The Teacup Maltese is not recognized as its own breed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) and is officially classified as a small Maltese dog.
This dog is more identical to a Maltese regardless of it being a combination between a Maltese and a Poodle. A Maltipoo Dog Breed is small and only weighs about 2lbs when he or she is two months old. However, a full-grown Teacup Maltipoo measures 8 to 14 inches at the withers and weighs approximately 5 to 20 pounds. We expect all our Teacup Maltipoo puppies for sale to stand at about 10 inches tall and weigh somewhere between 5 to 15 lbs full-grown. They have an easily identifiable round face with black eyes, just like their Maltese parent.
The Maltipoo dogs are a crossbreed of a toy poodle and a Maltese. They were initially created in the United States to be small but affectionate dogs. They are only famous in the United States, the UK, and Canada, although they can still adapt well to other regions. Since the Maltese and the toy poodles are both popular dog breeds, the breeders wanted the Maltipoo to be popular, affectionate, and cope well in different family setups. The first Maltipoo dog was created nearly 30 years ago.
